The VCNL4040M3OE-H3 is a highly integrated ambient light and proximity sensor that combines a proximity sensor, ambient light sensor, and high-power infrared emitter into a compact SMD-8 package. Built using advanced CMOS technology, the device integrates photodiodes, amplifiers, and analog-to-digital conversion circuitry into a single chip, providing accurate ambient light measurement and reliable proximity detection while reducing board space requirements. The 16-bit high-resolution ambient light sensor delivers excellent performance across a wide range of lighting conditions, making it suitable for both dark and high-transparency lens designs.
The sensor features intelligent proximity-sensing technology, including crosstalk cancellation, smart persistence filtering, and active force mode for single-shot measurements.
