RCWL-9620 I2C Ultrasonic Distance Sensor with 2450 cm Measurement Range
The M5Stack U098-B1 Unit Ultrasonic-I2C is a compact ultrasonic distance sensor designed for non-contact ranging applications. It integrates the RCWL-9620 ultrasonic ranging controller with a 16 mm ultrasonic probe, providing distance measurements from 2 cm to 450 cm with 2% accuracy. The sensor operates at 40 kHz and includes built-in temperature compensation to help reduce measurement variation caused by probe temperature drift.
The module communicates through an I2C interface at address 0x57, allowing it to share the same bus with other I2C devices while conserving controller I/O resources. A protective cover helps maintain stable circuit operation, while the HY2.0-4P Grove interface provides straightforward connection to compatible M5Stack controllers. With a 50 ms measurement cycle and low 3 mA operating current, the sensor is suitable for robotics, obstacle detection, liquid-level measurement, positioning, and other distance-monitoring applications.
