MAX3232IDBR – Buffer/Driver/Transceiver IC SSOP-16

The MAX3232 device has two line drivers, two line receivers, and a dual charge-pump circuit with 15-kV ESD protection (serial-port connection terminals, including GND). The device complies with the TIA/EIA-232-F standard and serves as an electrical interface between an asynchronous communication controller and a serial-port connection. The charge pump and four small external capacitors enable operation with a single 3-V to 5.5-V power source. The devices provide data signaling rates of up to 250 kbit/s and a maximum driver output slew rate of 30 V/s.
